I look out my window every night
to see the wonders and delights
of my beautiful Derbyshire all dressed in green
and what some beautiful sights I've seen,
for in the spring there's all the flowers
dancing around in the April showers
then comes Summer the burning heat
when I sweat from my head right down to my feet.
Next comes Autumn and orange springs to mind
and the leaves on the trees aren't green, you'll find.
Lastly there's winter with 3ft of snow
and Derbyshire's wrapped in a blanket
but it's not warm you know.
Since I first came to Derbyshire and it's sights,
and the wonders and delights,
I found that you can't go long without it
for there's something special about it.
Whether it's all the people with their kind hearts
or the rolling hills that play their part
I will always see Derbyshire as the place to be
So come and enjoy a book under a green tree.
